Relay for Life

One of the university-wide events that NCSU Crusade participates in each year is the NCSU Relay for Life. It's an overnight event April 8-9 that raises money to support the American Cancer Society, and Crusade is doing that through having a Penny War between the different areas of campus! Just bring your loose change to Primetime and we'll have buckets for you to put them in. 1 penny = 1 point, but higher-valued coins give you negative points (i.e.; 1 quarter = -25 points, etc.). The area of campus that has the most points after Primetime on April 7th will win a hot dog cookout for their area!

If you'd like to join our team for Relay this year, sign up on the American Cancer Society website here, and then send an email to Kyle Hipp at ncsukyle@gmail.com and tell him when you'd like to work during the event. We hope to see you there!

The Great Debate

If you haven't heard yet, we're hosting The Great Debate this Wednesday at the NCSU McKimmon Center! Dr. William Lane Craig will be debating Dr. Lawrence Krauss... here's a bit of information about each of them.

Dr. Craig received his B.A. in Communications from Wheaton College in 1971, and went on over the next 13 years to earn two MA degrees from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS), a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham in England, and a Th.D. at the University of Munich. Dr. Craig is currently a Research Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology in California, a position he has held since 1994. He is an accomplished author of over 130 books and articles, and many of his more recent debates have also been turned into books.

Theoretical Physicist Dr. Lawrence Krauss graduated with dual degrees in math and physics from Carleton University and attended MIT to get his Ph.D. in 1982. Dr. Krauss is a professor of Physics and a Foundation Professor in ASU's School of Earth & Space Exploration. He is also a prolific writer, and has received numerous awards for his academic works.

Dr. Craig and Dr. Krauss will be discussing the question "Is There Evidence for God?", and will be moderated by Dr. Paul Newby, Justice on the Supreme Court of NC. The debate will start at 7pm sharp at NCSU's McKimmon Center (directions here), and seating will be limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you aren't able to make it to the McKimmon Center we will also have a live web stream of the event available on our website at www.thegreatdebatencsu.com/. Due to the limited seating we ask that, if possible, only NCSU and Meredith faculty and students attend the live debate, and that others watch the online stream.

Also, Dr. Craig will be speaking at our Thursday night Primetime meeting at 8pm in Reynolds! It should be a great time to hear from so be sure to get there early to get a good seat. We hope to see you there!
